The newly refurbished gym features an ‘incredible’ 250k transformation

The NR Health andFitness Club on Pinbush Road in South Lowestoft has undergone a major transformation following a £250,000 investment.

With the Norfolk-based fitness chain having opened its latest NR Health and Fitness Club in Lowestoft in September 2022, it has now unveiled a new look with a complete refurbishment of the gym.

As the company took over the former Nirvana gym which was run by Sentinel, which closed in March 2022 when the company ceased trading, new equipment has now been installed.

And after closing for eight days to carry out major changes, the transformation was completed at 10pm on Thursday, just hours before reopening at 6.30am yesterday.

Boxer, club member and two-time Olympian Charley Davison cut the ribbon to mark a “fantastic” return – with club director Dan Andrews praising the new facilities.

“Obviously we came in 18 months ago and as a company we took the kit that had been in the previous gym on a temporary lease,” Andrews said.

“With this lease coming to an end, the company has reinvested in the community with the best quality kit.

“All equipment removed and new equipment installed.”

The entire clubhouse has been redecorated, 25 new bikes have been installed, new Hammer Strength and Life Fitness equipment has been introduced, new mirrors and a new music system has been installed, along with improvements to the changing rooms and consultation room

New air conditioning units have now been installed, along with new flooring, while a wall was demolished “to create a larger functional area” which has now provided space for the installation of a cart

Great investment of 250,000 euros

Andrews said: “We’ve invested a minimum of a quarter of a million pounds to get where we are today, but it’s all for the right reason.

“It’s for our loyal local members – we’ve got over 1,700 members here in less than two years, which is fantastic.

“We’ve upgraded our facilities to provide top-of-the-line equipment for everyone
our members, and we hope that this will help us to provide even more facilities
for people in and around Lowestoft areas.

“We now have a huge range of kit in the gym and to get to where we are now, from what we had before – well it has taken a massive team effort, support from our members, local businesses and the community to achieve this. all done
