5 for good: Salem’s physical trainer helps children with disabilities build strength and confidence
Part of the Pack program at White Wolf Fitness in Salem serves more than a dozen children
PART OF THE PACK HERE WE GO. FIVE FEET MORE, FOUR FEET MORE. THE TIRE IS EASILY TWICE HIS SIZE IS GOOD, BUT WITH ENCOURAGEMENT FROM HIS TRAINER AT WHITE WOLF FITNESS IN SALEM, SEVEN-YEAR-OLD HENRY DELISLE BREAKS HIS EXPECTATIONS. HE WANT ME TO WORK MORE, MORE. IT PUSHES YOU, RIGHT? YES. IT IS FUN? YES. ZACH, JACK AND MAX, WHO TRAIN TOGETHER FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS, ARE HUGE COLBY BOULET FANS TOO. IT IS GREAT. HE’S BIG AND TALENTED. DID YOU PAID TO SAY THAT? NO, HE DOESN’T. COLBY HAS BEEN TRAINING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES SINCE A CLIENT ASKED HER TO WORK WITH HIS DAUGHTER. Not even a beat has been skipped. IT WAS THE SAME, ABSOLUTELY. I WOULD LIKE TO. YES, YES, YES, HOME SICK TODAY, WE TALKED TO NICOLE PUZO AND HER DAUGHTER STELLA, DISTANTLY. EVEN WITH THE FLU, STELLA FEELS STRONGER THAN EVER. ONLY CONSIDER YOUR CURRENT PULL UP RECORD. KELLEY HAS. MOTHER CAN’T MAKE ONE. COME ON. PUSH PUSH PUSH PUSH. THE FIRST THING HE SAID WHEN HE CAME IN WAS, IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING, YOU WILL FIND A WAY TO DO IT. ESTELLA’S SUCCESS INSPIRED A BIGGER EFFORT FROM NICOLE AND COLBY, WHO ASKED TO BE PART OF THE PACK. ONCE YOU SEE SOME BENEFIT AND CHANGE STAR, I JUST KNOW IT WILL CHANGE SO MANY OTHER FAMILIES AND CHILDREN. I just said I was going to him and I’d like to, EVER WANT TO START A PROGRAM FOR THAT TO INCLUDING, YOU KNOW, FITNESS? AND AGAIN IT WAS LIKE, I WOULD LOVE THAT THE NAME WAS PARTLY INSPIRED BY COLBYS DOG CASH. BUT THERE’S MORE. BEING IN THE WHITE WOLF, OUR MEMBERS ARE CALLED HERE, YOU KNOW, THEY ARE THE WOLF PACK. AND THAT’S WHY I WANTED THE CHILDREN TO FEEL AS PART OF THIS PACK OF WOLVES. THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF THE DRONE FAMILY FOUNDATION, THE SESSIONS ARE FREE. COLBY IS NOW TRAINING OVER A DOZEN KIDS THROUGH THE PROGRAM. ALI COMES IN AND ALL, ALL, EVERY TIME HE DELIVERS, WE HIGH FIVE AND DAB. GOOD JOB. THAT’S HIS THING. THIS ALWAYS EXCITES DELIVERY. ALL KIDS DO. WE LOVE HIM. HE IS OUR COACH. AND THEY COME EVERY WEEK AND ARE THE MOST CONSISTENT CUSTOMERS WE HAVE HAD. I mean THERE’S ONLY ONE OF COLBY’S NOW SO WE NEED TO GET ANOTHER PAIR. COLBYS, AND WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE AN ALL INCLUSIVE GYM. WE ALREADY KNOW THAT WE CAN MAKE PROGRAMS AND WE HAVE A SENSORY ROOM FOR CHILDREN TO COME AND WE DEFINITELY HAVE A PLAN FOR THE FUTURE. WE JUST HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, TAKE A FEW SNOW STEPS TO GET THERE. YES. So ONLY ONE COLBY. BUT COLBY IS UNIQUE. THEY NEED WHILE THEY NEED TO CARBON COPY IT. YES, THEY DO. AND BOTH COLBY AND NICOLE JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO WHITE WOLF FITNESS FOR BEING SO NICE ON THE KIDS PACK PART. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN REALLY INSTRUMENTAL IN HELPING THE FAMILIES IN THAT AREA. OTHERS

Boulay has been training children with disabilities since his client Nicole Puzzo said she asked him to work with her daughter, Stella, who has cerebral palsy. “He didn’t even skip a beat, Puzzo said. He said: Absolutely, I would love to. “Boulay said he promised to help Stella achieve whatever goal she set.” The first thing I told him when he came in was, If there’s ever something he wants to do, ‘I’ll find a way to do it,’” Boulay said. Stella’s success inspired a larger effort called Part of the Pack.” When I see something beneficial and changing, Stella, I just know it’s going to change so many other families. and children, Puzzo said. Then, I went to (Colby ) and I said, “Would you ever want to start an inclusive fitness program?” Thanks to the support of the Jauron Family Foundation, sessions with Part of the Pack are free, Boulay said he’s now training more than a dozen kids through the program.” There is only one of the Colbys right now, so we need to get a couple more Colbys, Puzzo said.
